1.- Why should I reserve the Inca Trail in advance?

The Peruvian government limits the Inca Trail traffic to 500 people per day, including guides, cooks and porters who must carry all the food, tents, etc. No pack animals are allowed on the Inca Trail since their hooves could damage the old stone paths. The ratio of support staff to hikers is approximately 6 to 1, so, in reality, there are not many entry permits for hikers! All hikers must register through an authorized travel agency, usually months in advance, as points are quickly sold out. For the next year, sales will be open in the month of October 2019. Therefore, the months most in demand are from April to August, which usually sell out quickly. But if you book immediately we can guarantee your places for the Inca Trail. Because we have a very good staff for reservations. Planning and booking your place months in advance is essential for trekking the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Especially for the months of high demand from March to September. In addition, holiday dates sell out quickly, only a few hours after their release. All entry points are usually sold out 6 - 8 months in advance. This means that we need our list of hikers and all their necessary data ready to reserve vacancies as soon as they are available, usually in October.

2.- What are the costs for the Inca Trail?

The cost for the next year, if you book in advance is 590 dollars for the adult passenger. And if you are a student you will have a discount of 20 dollars, for which you must meet the following requirements:

  • Not have more than 25 years to date of travel
  • Have a student card, with your photograph, name of your study center, expiration date valid on the date of your trip to Peru.
  • The reservation system of Machupicchu and Camino Inca does not accept ISIC cards.

Our price is in the normal range, since we work with small groups, and the staff assigned is the best guides with fluent English, chefs with more than 10 years experience on the Inca Trail.

  • We recommend booking your air tickets once you receive your permission from the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Please note that we can guarantee the dates of your trip in advance until we have your entry permits.

4.-Can I make changes to my dates and information, or cancel my walk and get a refund?

5.- How do I know my permits were issued?

The official opening sale of the entrance permits to the Inca 2020 Trail will take place in October 2019. We will be ready to obtain their permits as soon as they are available. Once we have your permits, we will send you a confirmatio n email with the exact dates. Then, you can schedule your flights according to what you prefer. We ask you to look up our emails and respond quickly in case we need to confirm the information with you.

6.- Save money if I book before?

Yes, you will save money because you will pay the 2019 prices for the 2020 services. We will respect the 2019 price of the Inca Trail against any increase made by the government or currency changes. The tendency is that the cost of the Inca Trail increases every year; For example, entry fees to the Inca Trail increased by 90% from 2016 to 2019.
