The Lares Valley is located between the high mountains and the Amazon jungle of Cusco. These aspects make the tour to the town of Lares very unique, because its inhabitants still wear their colorful costumes made by themselves, from the fibers of their alpacas and llamas. Lares is also known for being the largest producer of organic potatoes, traditional agriculture represents its greatest wealth for visitors interested in the issue of sustainable production.
In Lares there are also thermal baths of volcanic origin, which have therapeutic properties, very beneficial to the human body.
After having visited these wonderful towns, you ascend to the Pachacuteq pass 4,580 meters, from where you can see the snow-capped peaks of Chicon, Pitusiray, Sawasiray, Veronica. Then a descent to the town of Cancha Cancha is made, which is the gateway to the Huaran Valley, with a very mild climate and full of vegetable and flower gardens. As final destination will be the Inca sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
